Thompson concert draws up to 30,000 fans to Šibenik's Šubićevac stadium

Marko Perković Thompson performed on 4 August 2026 at Šubićevac stadium in Šibenik as part of the Victory Day and Homeland Thanksgiving celebrations. Organisers sold about 27 000 tickets and expect roughly 30 000 attendees, with around 21 000 coming from other Croatian cities and abroad.

Police and municipal services prepared extensive traffic and safety measures. Major streets were closed, and three designated parking zones – TEF (for traffic from Zadar), Mandalina (for traffic from Split) and Podi (industrial zone for A1 traffic) – were set up, supported by about 25 shuttle buses. Joško Periša, head of the local traffic police, warned against the use of pyrotechnics and fire‑hazardous activities, citing the dry vegetation and high temperatures. Four medical teams and additional fire‑brigade units were positioned on‑site, and a temporary no‑fly zone was imposed over the stadium area.

The concert opened with Thompson’s traditional “Bojna Čavoglave” and proceeded without major incidents, according to the mayor and police officials, who praised the coordinated effort of organisers, city authorities and emergency services.
