Serbian suspects arrested for brutal home invasion of 88‑year‑old pensioner in Langenzersdorf, Austria
On 18 December 2025, two men posing as craftsmen entered the apartment of an 88‑year‑old pensioner in Langenzersdorf, near Vienna. The attackers, aged 18 and 51 and identified as Serbian nationals, tied and assaulted the woman, stole a small amount of cash, and left her with severe injuries requiring a 16‑day hospital stay before being moved to a care home.
A joint investigation by Lower Austria police linked the suspects through DNA evidence and a European arrest warrant. The 18‑year‑old was detained in Vienna in April during a separate burglary attempt, while the 51‑year‑old was captured in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 3 July and placed in extradition custody. The victim continues to receive daily assistance at her home.
