Brother murders sister in Belgrade flat before taking his own life
In a sixth‑floor apartment on Bežanijska kosa in Belgrade, 48‑year‑old brother B. P. killed his 52‑year‑old sister Tatjana P. with a machete. After the stabbing, he reportedly slit his own throat and repeatedly stabbed his abdomen, dying from the self‑inflicted wounds. Neighbours, disturbed by a foul odor for days, forced open the door and discovered the bodies in a pool of blood. A neighbor, health‑worker Vitomir Mijailović, was the first to enter the flat and described the grisly scene. Police later found two mobile phones and a handwritten note containing the phrases “Bojanov svetski poredak” and “krvavo i čisto”. The investigation continues, with authorities examining the motive and any prior signs of mental distress.
The incident has drawn significant local media attention, prompting calls for increased awareness of domestic violence and mental‑health support.
