Serbian tourist suffers severe injuries in Spain traffic accident

A young Serbian man, Jovan Petković, suffered life-altering injuries following a traffic accident in Alicante, Spain. While on vacation with five friends, Petković exited a rented vehicle on a highway shoulder to retrieve items from the trunk. During this time, an 84-year-old female driver lost control of her vehicle and struck him.

Petković was initially treated in Alicante before being rushed to a clinical center in Valencia. Despite medical efforts to save his leg, doctors were forced to perform an amputation to save his life. He is currently in stable condition and undergoing recovery. His family has launched an appeal for donations to assist with his long-term rehabilitation and the purchase of a modern prosthesis to restore his mobility.
