Serbian Tourists Warned of Car Theft Risks in Greece

Serbian visitors to Greece have reported a series of vehicle thefts, with stolen cars often ending up in the area between the Turkish border and Thessaloniki. Police investigations indicate that some of the stolen vehicles are used for illegal migrant smuggling before being recovered and seized. Victims are advised to file immediate police reports, retain documentation, contact their insurance, and seek assistance from the Serbian embassy in Athens.

In parallel, Serbian auto‑mechanic Miloš Delić urged travelers to inspect their cars before departure. He recommends checking oil, antifreeze, brakes, lights, tire pressure and the climate‑control system, ideally a month before the trip, to avoid breakdowns on long journeys to popular seaside destinations such as Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.
