Belgrade and nearby Serbian roads see multiple serious traffic accidents
On the night of 22‑23 July 2026 emergency crews in Belgrade dealt with a string of traffic incidents. A collision at the Ušće roundabout injured a young woman with a broken thigh bone and pelvic injuries, while a separate motorcycle crash in the same area caused a spleen wound. Police said 126 emergency interventions were carried out, 16 of them in public places.
Earlier, a high‑speed crash in the Klisa suburb of Novi Sad involving a Volkswagen Golf ended with three occupants dead; investigators point to excessive speed as the most likely cause and rescue teams spent hours extracting the vehicle from a canal.
In another Belgrade‑area case, a driver allegedly drifted at about 200 km/h, lost control, struck a barrier and severely injured a female passenger with multiple fractures and a pneumothorax. The driver reportedly left the scene with his father before police arrived.
A 47‑year‑old scooter rider was also hospitalized after a collision with a Kia near Doljevac.
