Serbian Triple Jumper Ivana Španović Wins in Maribor

Ivana Španović of Serbia competed out of competition at the Slovenian Championship in Maribor and secured victory with a 13.49 m triple jump on her first attempt. Her series included jumps of 13.24 m, a foul, 13.01 m and 13.30 m, with a wind assistance of +3.3 m/s on the winning mark. Coach Goran Obradović said the meet served as a key preparation for the upcoming Hanžeković Memorial in Zagreb, scheduled for Friday, and noted that the Serbian team will complete a short training stint in Slovenia before heading to Croatia.

Španović, a former European and world medalist in long jump, has recently focused on triple jump, setting an indoor national record of 14.41 m last winter. She previously won an outdoor meeting in Košice with a 13.79 m jump. In Maribor, fellow Serbian Natalija Dragojević placed second with 13.08 m, while Slovenia’s Taja Pučko claimed the national title with a personal‑best 12.86 m.
