Serbia's faster growth sparks media censorship clash with Croatia

A Croatian portal originally published a headline declaring that Serbia had overtaken Croatia in economic growth, citing IMF forecasts of a 3.52% expansion for Serbia versus 2.55% for Croatia. The headline was quickly altered to a neutral version after pressure from Croatian political circles, a move described as censorship.

At the same time, Croatian MEP Davor Đenero warned he would avoid entering Montenegro while the government, linked to the Bečić faction, maintains a repressive apparatus. He referenced recent reciprocal bans on Serbian media executives and Montenegrin journalists, and stressed his support for Montenegro's European integration.

Both incidents illustrate rising political tensions and media control issues in the Balkans, involving Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro.
