Serbia's Gornji Milanovac Enforces Water‑Saving Restrictions Amid Drought

The municipal administration of Gornji Milanovac in Serbia issued an order to conserve water from the local supply because of unfavorable hydrological conditions at the Rzav water system intake that serves the town.

Effective immediately, irrigation and watering of agricultural and green areas, filling of pools, wells, private reservoirs, sprinkling sidewalks, terraces and yards, and use of fire hydrants contrary to their purpose are prohibited. A special ban also covers irrigating crops with water from the Dičina River and its tributaries and using wells in that area. The restrictions remain in force until rainfall improves conditions, with inspections to enforce compliance and penalties for violations.
