Serbia's National Assembly to see record representation from Kragujevac

The upcoming session of the Serbian National Assembly is set to include a record 16 representatives from Kragujevac, the highest number since the introduction of multi-party politics in the country. This surge is primarily driven by the success of the ‘Studentska lista - Studenti pobeđuju’ (Student List - Students Win), which is projected to secure 141 mandates and has brought 13 candidates from Kragujevac into the parliament.

Other mandates from the region are expected to come from the ‘Aleksandar Vučić – Ujedinjena Srbija’ list, which is projected to hold 103 seats. Among the potential new lawmakers is actor Bojan Dimitrijević, known for his role in the series ‘Vratiće se rode’, who is positioned to enter parliament if preliminary election results are confirmed.

Preliminary data from the Republic Electoral Commission and projections from the Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID) indicate the Student List has secured approximately 52.7 to 53 percent of the vote.
