Serchio Blanco's 'Another Thebes' Returns to Greek Stages
The award‑winning play “Another Thebes” by the Theatre of the New World will resume its 2026 summer tour in Greece. It is scheduled for 21:00 on 24 August at the Open‑air Municipal Theatre in Patras, adjacent to the Pampelonnisiako Stadium, and for 7 September at the Forest Theatre in Thessaloniki.
The production, written by French‑Uruguayan playwright Serchio Blanco, is translated by Maria Chatzimanouil, directed by Vangelis Theodoropoulos, with music by Stavros Gasparatos. It stars Dimitris Kapouranis (in the dual role of Martin/Federico) and Thanos Lekkas as the author. After four consecutive sold‑out seasons and two highly successful national tours that have attracted more than 250,000 spectators, the play is regarded as one of the most discussed Greek theatrical works of recent years.
Tickets are being sold online, and the performances are expected to continue the pattern of full houses that marked the production’s previous runs.
