Serdang Bedagai police evacuate abandoned 10-year-old

Police from the Serdang Bedagai Regency Police (Polres Sergai) evacuated a 10-year-old child, identified as AR, after they were found abandoned near the Teluk Mengkudu toll intersection. The child was subsequently handed over to the Serdang Bedagai Social Services in Perbaungan to ensure safety and continued protection.

Investigations revealed that AR had been left in the care of a grandmother in Perbaungan by an uncle following the parents' divorce, as the parents' whereabouts are currently unknown. Records from the Social Services indicate that this is the fourth time AR has required similar intervention and has been returned to family or local village officials.

As a follow-up, the child was returned to the head of the local neighborhood (Lingkungan III) where they reside. Social Services officials have requested that local authorities complete the child's family data to facilitate enrollment in a local public school or a referral to an orphanage.
