Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian first met in May 2015 at the Hotel Cavalieri in Rome. Ohanian, a technology entrepreneur, was in Italy for a conference, while Williams was there for a tennis tournament. Their meeting was prompted by a chance encounter at breakfast after Ohanian had overslept.
