Serena Williams confirms participation in Berlin doubles event
Serena Williams announced she will compete in the doubles draw at the Berlin WTA 500 grass tournament, which begins on 15 June. The decision follows her recent appearance in the doubles competition at the Queen's Club Championships in London (8–14 June), marking her first return to the WTA circuit in nearly four years since her last appearance at the 2022 US Open.
Williams said, “Each tournament I include currently in my calendar is special, and Berlin is no exception. I am happy to compete in front of the German crowd and continue building confidence for the grass season.” The Berlin event is part of her preparation for Wimbledon, where she hopes to compete after taking part in the lead‑up tournaments at Bad Homburg (Germany) and Eastbourne (England).
