Serena Williams pulls out of Wimbledon doubles due to knee injury

Serena Williams announced she is withdrawing from the women's doubles event at Wimbledon because a right‑knee injury sustained during her first‑round singles match against Maya Junt prevented her from competing. The 44‑year‑old and her sister Venus had received a wildcard to play together, a reunion that would have been their first Grand Slam doubles appearance in a decade, and were slated to face Camila Osorio of Colombia and Solana Sierra of Argentina.

Tournament officials confirmed the withdrawal and replaced the Williams sisters in the draw with Samantha Murray Sharan and Lanlana Tararudee. Serena expressed heartbreak in a social‑media post, thanked Wimbledon staff and fans, and said she hopes to return to competition soon.
