Serena Williams trains in Berlin ahead of Berlin Tennis Open doubles

Serena Williams, the 44‑year‑old American Grand Slam champion, has been training on a grass court in Berlin as she prepares for her doubles appearance at the Berlin Tennis Open. She will partner with Czech player Karolína Muchová, and their first match is scheduled for Tuesday at 17:30, although possible weather disruptions could affect the start time.

German players have struggled in the qualifiers: Hamburg native Ella Seidel lost to France’s Diane Parry in straight sets, and Tessa Brockmann of Itzehoe was eliminated after a three‑set defeat to the Netherlands’ Suzan Lamens. Consequently, wildcard entrant Eva Lys remains the only German competing in the main draw.
