Seres Group and CATL sign long-term strategic partnership

Seres Group and CATL have signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement in Chongqing to deepen their partnership in battery safety, supply chain synergy, and global ecosystem cooperation. Under this agreement, all AITO brand vehicles will continue to be equipped with CATL batteries.

A key component of the deal involves expanding production capacity at the Seres super factory. The second phase of the “factory-within-a-factory” project is planned to have an annual capacity of 10 to 12 GWh, which will bring the total annual capacity of both phases to over 20 GWh. This aims to link production capacity directly with sales volume through localized manufacturing.

The collaboration also extends to energy replenishment and international expansion. The companies plan to work together on ultra-fast charging networks, battery swapping services, and full life-cycle battery management. Furthermore, they intend to jointly enter overseas markets, including Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, to support the global expansion of the AITO brand. To date, AITO has achieved cumulative deliveries exceeding 1.2 million units.
