Sergei Bobrovsky signs three-year deal with Toronto Maple Leafs

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has joined the Toronto Maple Leafs on a three-year, $21 million contract following seven seasons with the Florida Panthers. The move comes after Bobrovsky and the Panthers were unable to reach an agreement on a new extension.

Maple Leafs general manager John Chayka described the signing as a “game changer” for the franchise, citing Bobrovsky’s stability, consistency, and championship pedigree. The acquisition follows recent roster shifts in Toronto, including the trade of Joseph Woll to the Philadelphia Flyers and the subsequent movement of Sam Ersson to the Ottawa Senators.

Bobrovsky’s career includes two Vezina Trophies and back-to-back championships. His wife, Olga, shared a farewell message to Florida fans, noting the family's seven-year history and two children in the state as they prepare to relocate to Ontario. Teammate Matthew Tkachuk previously highlighted Bobrovsky’s leadership and work ethic, describing him as the “backbone” of his former team.
