Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has rejected the possibility of an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, asserting that any cessation of hostilities must result in a long-term, reliable, and sustainable settlement. He warned that Russia would intensify its efforts to dismantle Western military support for Kyiv, stating that Moscow will use much tougher methods to destroy the supplies fueling the Ukrainian war machine.

Addressing Turkey's geopolitical role, Lavrov noted that while Ankara seeks to act as a mediator and maintain economic ties with Russia, its NATO membership creates inevitable obligations and tensions. He further claimed that Turkey is aware it will never achieve membership in the European Union. Lavrov also highlighted Turkey's interest in Black Sea stability and its proposal for agreements to protect maritime navigation.

Additionally, Lavrov accused the United States of deep involvement in organizing and executing strikes against civilian targets within Russian territory, claiming Washington provides intelligence and operational support for these attacks. He stated that Moscow has formally requested the U.S. State Department to comment on these allegations. Despite these tensions, Lavrov indicated that President Vladimir Putin remains open to receiving envoys from U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss potential peace proposals.
