Sergei Machowski named among Germany's top 30 bus drivers

The competition ‘LieblingsbusfahrerIn’ (Favorite Bus Driver) has been launched by several organizations, including Pro Bahn, DB Regio, the Federal Association of German Bus Companies, and the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV). The initiative encourages passengers to submit personal stories about bus drivers who maintain composure and kindness under stressful conditions.

A jury has selected a preliminary group of 30 drivers, including four from the Swabia and Upper Bavaria regions of Germany. Among the top 30 is Sergei Machowski, a 62-year-old driver for the Munich Transport Corporation (MVG). Machowski, originally from Ukraine, has worked for the MVG for 24 years. One passenger nomination described his calmness as comparable to a world-class goalkeeper. The final five winners will be announced in Berlin on October 15.
