Posušje Klapske Pisme Festival 2026 Celebrates Croatian Heritage

The 12th edition of the Festival of Klapske Pisme in Posušje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, opened on the weekend of 2026 with 19 klapas—eight male and eleven female groups—performing. The ceremony was attended by a delegation of the Croatian National Assembly of BiH, with speeches from representative Darijana Filipović, State Secretary Zvonko Milas, and municipal mayor Anto Begić, who highlighted the event’s role in preserving Croatian cultural heritage and strengthening identity across the border.

The competition awarded first place to klapa Krunik, presented by Filipović; second place to klapa Priženca, presented by Milas; and third place to klapa Podvorje, presented by Minister of Economy Zvonimir Širić. The audience prize, Bura, also went to klapa Podvorje. Notable performances included tenor Đani Stipaničev and legendary Croatian šansoniér Darko Domijan. The festival operates under the patronage of Dr. Dragan Čović, President of the Croatian National Assembly of BiH, with co‑patronage from the State Office for Croats outside Croatia, and is sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of BiH, JP Elektroprivreda HZ‑HB, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.
