Sergey Lavrov calls for multipolarity and announces upcoming U.S.-Russia talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that the United States will eventually be forced to adopt a logic of multipolarity in international relations. Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club and the United Nations General Assembly, Lavrov argued that the current pursuit of unilateral interests by Washington is unsustainable and that the U.S. must interact with major powers like the Russian Federation.

Lavrov announced that experts are currently coordinating the time and location for upcoming negotiations between the U.S. and Russia to address bilateral tensions. While direct communications have not yet occurred, an agreement has been reached with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to hold meetings soon.

Addressing broader geopolitical threats, Lavrov warned against a ‘dictatorship of a single dominant power,’ noting that global politics is shifting toward a more equitable multipolar system. He also accused the U.S. and Israel of seeking to target Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family, as well as Iranian civilian infrastructure. Furthermore, he criticized Western efforts to undermine peace talks in Ukraine by supplying weapons to Kyiv and called for the establishment of a Palestinian state to resolve Middle East instability.
