Sergey Lavrov claims Nazism is spreading through Europe and Ukraine
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that ‘metastases of Nazism’ are spreading across Europe, with the most pronounced presence in Ukraine. He accused Ukrainian authorities of reviving this ideology.
Lavrov noted that many people in Russia view the military operation in Ukraine as ‘another task in the fight against Nazism.’ He asserted that Moscow is taking all necessary steps to ensure Russian security and to restore the rights of Russian-speaking populations in Ukraine, specifically mentioning Crimea, Donbas, and Novorossiya, as well as territories under Kyiv's control. Lavrov claimed that Ukrainian authorities are grossly violating the linguistic and religious rights of these populations.
These remarks come ahead of the State Duma elections scheduled for September 20, which President Vladimir Putin has described as the most important political event in Russia.
