Sergey Lavrov warns of Western ‘color revolutions’

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any nation, including those in Central Asia, could become a victim of Western-orchestrated ‘color revolutions’ used for geopolitical expansion.

Speaking at a meeting regarding security issues in Central Asia and Afghanistan involving the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Lavrov claimed the West seeks to create tension near the borders of these organizations. He further attributed the Ukraine crisis to NATO’s eastward expansion toward Russian borders and criticized Western support for the government in Kyiv.
