Serghei Lavrov claims NATO and EU will not survive much longer

Russian Foreign Minister Serghei Lavrov stated at the Vladivostok Economic Forum that NATO will not survive much longer. He argued that the alliance is attempting to invent new pretexts to justify its continued existence, citing the previous campaign in Afghanistan as an example of a mission that ended without glory.

Lavrov also characterized the European Union as having transformed into an ‘aggressively open anti-Russian military bloc’ that serves as support for NATO. He predicted that the EU will fail to maintain its original purpose.

Furthermore, the Russian diplomat suggested that NATO's efforts to expand dominance in Southeast and Northeast Asia under the slogan of ‘limiting China’ and amplifying the Taiwan issue are unsustainable. He noted that increasing military expenditures from 2% to 5% of GDP will eventually lead voters to question the necessity of such spending, as it impacts daily living standards.
