Sergio Agüero targets Gabriel Milito for Independiente coaching role

Former footballer Sergio Agüero has announced plans to recruit Gabriel Milito as the head coach for Independiente, should the club's Lista Roja faction win the upcoming presidential elections on December 13.

Agüero, who is supporting the candidacy of Luciano Nakis, clarified that while he does not intend to hold a formal executive position, he is heavily involved in the sporting planning and management of the project. He expressed confidence in attracting sponsors to help address the club's economic crisis but emphasized the need for financial caution and structural organization.

Milito is currently the manager of Chivas de Guadalajara in Mexico with a contract running until June 2027. Agüero stated that the team intends to approach Milito in December to discuss a potential move, provided the coach is willing to depart his current role.
