Sergio De Larrea signs with Dallas Mavericks, leaves Valencia Basket
Spanish point guard Sergio De Larrea, 20, has terminated his contract with Valencia Basket by paying his release clause and signed with the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks announced his signing, assigning him jersey number 55, and he will debut in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July.
De Larrea was selected 25th overall in the recent NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers before being traded to Dallas. He spent five seasons with Valencia, winning the 2025‑26 Supercopa Endesa MVP award and helping the team capture the Liga Endesa title. His move makes him the third Valencia player to reach the NBA. He will join fellow Spaniards, including twins Jorge and Guillermo Díaz Graham, on the Mavericks’ Summer League roster.
