Mattarella calls for national unity and social cohesion
Italian President Sergio Mattarella addressed the 80th anniversary of the Italian Confederation of Managers and High Professionals (CIDA), urging leaders to maintain national unity despite political or social disagreements. He emphasized that the fundamental unity of the country must not be lost even when merit-based confrontations take center stage.
Reflecting on the history of the Republic, Mattarella honored managers who lost their lives during the years of terrorism, specifically naming Pietro Coggiola, Carlo Ghiglieno, Manfredo Mazzanti, Renato Briano, and Giuseppe Taliercio. He noted that Italy overcame terrorism through its civil values and unity.
Regarding the future, the President highlighted the challenges posed by rapid technological transformations, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital technologies. He called on both public and private managers to ensure these advancements serve human dignity, social cohesion, and qualitative growth rather than focusing solely on profit and efficiency.
