Sergio Mattarella honors Silvano Tosi and the role of Parliament

Italian President Sergio Mattarella issued a message regarding a study day titled ‘The Clinic of the Constitution: The Role of Parliament at the Threshold of the XX Legislature,’ held in memory of Silvano Tosi on the centenary of his birth.

Mattarella emphasized that Parliament serves as a living space for practices, procedures, and responsibilities where the quality of democracy is measured daily. He highlighted Tosi as a fundamental reference point for understanding the evolution of representative institutions. Tosi, a scholar of parliamentary law and a former member of the Superior Council of the Magistracy, was instrumental in establishing the Parliamentary Studies and Research Seminar in 1967.
