Sergio Mattarella to attend Italy-Turkey basketball game in Rome

Italian President Sergio Mattarella will attend the Italy vs. Turkey basketball game in Rome on November 26. Following an invitation from the President of the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP), Giovanni Petrucci, the President's attendance marks the first time an Italian Head of State has been present at a national basketball match.

The game is a qualification match for the 2027 World Cup and will be held at the PalaEur arena. This event also marks Italy's return to the PalaEur venue for a national team game after more than 19 years. While Italy enters the match following losses in Bosnia-Herzegovina and against Serbia, Turkey remains undefeated with eight consecutive wins.
