Sergio Perez discusses F1 return and Cadillac performance

Formula 1 driver Sergio Perez has addressed his return to the sport following his departure from Red Bull Racing at the end of 2024. After a period of uncertainty, Perez joined the Cadillac team for the 2026 season, where he has expressed satisfaction with his current performance and ability to compete at a high level.

Perez noted that his recent success in qualifying and race pace has helped him regain confidence. He attributed his previous difficulties at Red Bull to specific circumstances within the team during his final six months there, rather than a decline in his personal ability. He emphasized that he was already driving at a high level previously, despite being unable to show his full potential due to the team's development direction.

Adapting to the intense F1 schedule and constant travel was cited as his primary challenge during his return. Currently competing alongside Valtteri Bottas at Cadillac, Perez stated he is focused on maintaining his performance and continuing to improve.
