Sergio Perez urges Cadillac to rethink development processes

Sergio Perez has called for Cadillac to rethink its development processes following a difficult period in the Formula 1 season. The driver noted that while the rookie team has acquitted itself well, it has struggled to translate potential into actual performance and lap time.

Perez highlighted that the team has not developed the car quickly enough to close the gap with rivals. This criticism comes as Cadillac undergoes a leadership transition, with former Alpine executive director Marcin Budkowski replacing Graeme Lowdon as team principal to oversee the engineering and development program.

The team's season has been marked by technical struggles, including four retirements. Notable issues include a suspension failure in Belgium and a sudden left-rear tire suspension breakage during the Hungarian Grand Prix. Despite these setbacks, Perez remains optimistic that solving specific technical issues will soon yield significant performance gains.
