Sergio Pérez discusses potential Formula 1 retirement

Formula 1 driver Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez has shared insights regarding his future and potential retirement from the sport. The 36-year-old Mexican driver estimated that he may have approximately three years remaining in his professional racing career.

Pérez expressed a desire to transition into personal projects once he retires, noting that he intends to dedicate about 80% of his time to these endeavors. His plans include writing a book about his experiences during his four seasons with Red Bull, specifically addressing contractual clauses and performance pressures. He also expressed interest in advising or representing other drivers.

Additionally, Pérez mentioned his involvement with the Cadillac project, stating he hopes to use his experience to help the team become competitive in upcoming years. He noted that his family and the desire to spend more time with his children will be decisive factors in his retirement, adding that he prefers a private life away from the spotlight of fame.
