Sergio Pérez linked to Williams amid Cadillac F1 contract rumors
Speculation regarding the future of Formula 1 driver Sergio "Checo" Pérez has intensified following reports linking him to the Williams F1 Team for the 2027 season. Analysts suggest Pérez's experience and commercial backing from Latin American brands make him an attractive option for teams looking to optimize budgets, especially given his estimated annual salary of $7–$8 million.
Despite these rumors, Cadillac F1 Team executive Graeme Lowdon has denied any reports of a contractual rupture, stating, “It is very important to make absolutely clear that there is not a shred of truth or evidence to support any of the rumors suggesting that Valtteri [Bottas] is at risk or that Checo could go to another team.” Pérez is currently contracted with Cadillac through the end of the 2027 season, with an option to extend for an additional year.
Other reports suggest Cadillac may be evaluating younger talent for its long-term future, including Formula 2 drivers Rafael Camaraque and Nikola Tsolov. While Cadillac officials have not commented on these potential additions, the team maintains that its current lineup of Pérez and Bottas remains stable.
