Sergio Pérez to start 20th at British Grand Prix

Mexico’s Sergio Pérez qualified 20th for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, placing him on the back row after a troubled qualifying session. The driver said numerous aerodynamic changes to his Cadillac‑powered car upset its high‑speed balance, leaving it with little front‑end grip. Pérez aims to make up time lost in Austria, where both he and teammate Valtteri Bottas retired due to overheating issues.

During the preceding sprint race Pérez received a 10‑second penalty for contact with Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin in the third corner. He accepted the sanction, noting it was consistent with the rules. Despite the qualifying setback, Pérez remains hopeful of climbing into the midfield during the Sunday race.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli took pole position, leading a front row that also featured Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Isack Hadjar, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen.
