Sergio Rico recovers from severe accident and returns to football

Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico and his wife, influencer Alba Silva, are navigating a period of family stability in Seville following Rico’s severe medical recovery. In May 2023, Rico suffered a traumatic brain injury and cerebral hemorrhage after being struck by a horse during the Romería de El Rocío in Huelva.

Following an 83-day hospitalization and a period in an induced coma, Rico underwent a long rehabilitation process to minimize neurological and physical consequences. After leaving PSG, Rico has since returned to professional football. The couple, who married in 2022, recently welcomed their second child, Sergio, following the birth of their daughter, Carla, in 2024.
