Sergipe police investigate obscene gestures on Aracaju bus

The Civil Police in Sergipe, through the Department of Assistance to Vulnerable Groups (DAGV), are investigating an incident involving a man filmed making obscene gestures on a public bus in Aracaju.

Following the circulation of video footage on social media, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) identified the specific bus line and the company responsible for the vehicle. While the incident was not reported to the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (Ciosp) at the time it occurred, authorities are working to identify the perpetrator and any potential victims to take legal action.

The Union of Passenger Transport Companies of Aracaju (Setransp) issued a statement repudiating all forms of violence, harassment, and sexual importuning on public transport. The union noted that drivers receive training to prevent and combat such situations and emphasized that the sector collaborates with authorities by providing vehicle footage for investigations.
