Sergipe political alliances shift for Mitidieri reelection campaign

In Sergipe, political dynamics have shifted following Governor Fábio Mitidieri’s decision to restructure his reelection campaign. After initial plans to include Alessandro Vieira on the Senate ticket, Mitidieri opted to remove Vieira following internal friction and instead reached an agreement with the PT to include Rogério Carvalho in the majoritarian slate.

Despite ideological differences, candidates André Moura and Rogério Carvalho have demonstrated cooperation by working together to build leadership support across the state. This alignment has reportedly caused concern among opposition groups, particularly as local leaders continue to join the Mitidieri-led coalition.
