Serhat Özbay joins Olympic Science and Technology Commission

Prof. Dr. Serhat Özbay, Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Erzurum Technical University, has been appointed to the Olympic Science, Technology and Innovation Commission within the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK).

The commission aims to integrate scientific knowledge and technological advancements into the Olympic sports ecosystem. Key objectives include enhancing athlete performance, supporting scientific research, implementing new technologies in sports, and utilizing data-driven applications. By combining sports science with various other disciplines, the commission seeks to foster innovative practices that contribute to the development of the Olympic movement.

Prof. Dr. Özbay emphasized that the future of Olympic sports requires a multidisciplinary approach involving data analysis and technology, noting that field-based training alone is no longer sufficient. The initiative intends to strengthen Turkey’s scientific capacity in the Olympic arena by bridging academic expertise with sports stakeholders.
