Serie A clubs ramp up youth talent investments

Italian football clubs are increasingly focusing on long‑term youth development to secure both sporting success and financial stability. Levante has announced a strategy centred on young prospects, signing players such as Carlos Espí and Belgian forward Yanis Musuayi on contracts that include release clauses of €25 million and €60 million respectively, while extending deals for several academy graduates through 2028.

In Serie A, Como set a record by spending about €142 million on under‑20 players since the 2024/25 season, far outpacing rivals. Inter’s spending in the same bracket stayed below €30 million, while Juventus and Atalanta each invested roughly €61 million and €61 million respectively. Milan, Napoli and other clubs have been more cautious, with Napoli allocating only €11.4 million to under‑21 talent. The trend highlights a broader shift toward sustainable squad building through early‑career acquisitions and strong contract terms.
