Serie A clubs spend over one billion euros in summer transfer window

Serie A clubs have demonstrated significant financial activity during the summer transfer window, ranking second among Europe’s ‘Big Five’ leagues in both total outlay and net spend. According to Transfermarkt, Italian clubs spent over one billion euros, surpassing the expenditures of La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Despite the high spending, Serie A clubs reported a combined summer deficit of nearly 430 million euros. AC Milan has emerged as a primary spender, notably acquiring Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain for 74 million euros, the most expensive signing in the league in five years. Milan’s total spending has reached nearly 160 million euros, closely followed by Juventus.
