Italian football authorities issue various disciplinary sanctions
Italian sports judicial bodies have issued a series of disciplinary rulings across multiple professional leagues. In Serie A, several clubs faced fines for various infractions: Como was fined €8,000 for causing delays, Napoli €7,000 for smoke bombs, and Fiorentina €5,000 for match delays. Individual players also received sanctions, including Sascha Britschgi of Parma and Marcus Thuram of Inter, both fined €2,000 for simulation. Additionally, Genoa captain Vasquez Ibarra received a €1,500 fine.
In Serie B, Südtirol player Vasco Lopes received a one-match suspension, while Carrarese coach Guido Pagliuca was handed a three-match ban and a €3,000 fine following protests against an official. In Serie C, the Court of Appeal upheld a three-match suspension for Potenza midfielder Antonino De Marco following a violent incident during a derby against Picerno.
In other matters, the Lecce club is navigating a dispute regarding the unpaid wages of Lameck Banda, with an independent commission ruling that salary suspension is applicable during his period of being unreachable, while the case remains pending before FIFA.
