Serie A secures new broadcasting deals with DAZN and BBC

The broadcasting landscape for Italy’s Serie A is evolving in the United Kingdom and Ireland through new media rights agreements.

DAZN has renewed its agreement with Lega Serie A to continue broadcasting all 380 matches during the 2026-27 season. Under this deal, DAZN will remain the only platform offering access to the complete fixture list, though the number of exclusive matches per matchweek will decrease from eight to seven. This shift allows Serie A to increase exposure through other partners while maintaining DAZN’s central role.

Additionally, the BBC has secured a season-long deal to show 38 live matches. This coverage will be split between BBC iPlayer and BBC ALBA, with the latter providing Gaelic and English co-commentary for 19 matches. TNT Sports will also continue to carry selected non-exclusive matches.

These arrangements aim to maximize the league’s exposure across subscription, pay-TV, and free-to-air platforms in a key European market. DAZN has also strengthened its international presence by securing Serie A rights in France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland through the 2028-29 season.
