Lazio achieves record Serie A start under Gattuso

Lazio has achieved a historic start to the Serie A season, sitting at the top of the table with 13 points after five matches, tied with Inter and Roma. This performance marks the best start in the club's history under manager Gennaro Gattuso, surpassing previous records set by coaches like Tommaso Maestrelli and Sven-Göran Eriksson.

Gattuso’s tactical approach has revitalized several players, including goalkeeper Christos Mandas and defender Nuno Tavares. Despite the success on the pitch, the club faces ongoing tension with supporters regarding long-standing issues with president Claudio Lotito. Additionally, the team will be missing several key players, including Davide Frattesi, during the upcoming international break due to national team call-ups.

While the team's form has significantly improved following an early exit from the Coppa Italia, Gattuso has remained cautious, emphasizing that the team must maintain high standards to remain competitive for top positions and potential Champions League qualification.
