Serie B 2026/2027 season schedule and details announced

The 2026/2027 Serie B season is set to begin on Friday, August 21, with a match between L. R. Vicenza and Catanzaro at the Romeo Menti stadium. This marks the 95th edition of the tournament since the single-group format was established in 1929/30.

Lega B President Paolo Bedin presented the season's details in Milan, highlighting a record-breaking 118,000 total season ticket subscriptions, the highest since the 2009-10 season. Notably, Hellas Verona, Palermo, and Sampdoria have each surpassed 10,000 subscribers. The league also reported that 80% of the 834 professional players are Italian, with a significant emphasis on youth development.

The season will feature an asymmetric calendar to allow for greater flexibility regarding public order, city events, and stadium maintenance. The regular season is scheduled to conclude between May 14 and May 16, 2027, followed by playoffs and playouts. Television coverage will be enhanced with increased camera usage, including opposite-side and behind-the-goal cameras to assist the VAR system.
