Series of fires sweep Dutch towns on June 1

On Monday 1 June, a wave of fire emergencies was reported across the Netherlands. Incidents included a vehicle fire in a company building in Gorinchem, a berm fire in Dirksland, a car that fell into water in Oostzaan, a conifer fire on Kastanjelaan in The Hague, a cyclist‑vehicle collision in Leeuwarden, a van that entered water in Krimpen‑aan‑de‑Lek, a scooter fire under a bridge in Heeswijk‑Dinther, and a fire aboard a cruise ship in Nijmegen. Additional reports noted a stabbing incident in The Hague during the early hours.

Later that night and into 2 June, further fires were recorded, such as a warehouse blaze in Enschede, a residential fire in Leeuwarden, a wood‑pile fire in Amersfoort, and various other outdoor and building fires. Each event prompted local fire‑department responses and, in some cases, medical assistance for injured parties.
