Serik resident rescues cat from building fire in Antalya

In the Serik district of Antalya, a fire broke out in a residential building in the Kökez neighborhood. Reports indicate that the resident, identified as M. E., allegedly set fire to the apartment himself. The individual was reportedly rescued from the flames by his son before being taken into police custody.

During the incident, a tenant named Muzaffer Yıldız performed a rescue by climbing the exterior railings of the building to reach a balcony where two cats were trapped. Yıldız successfully saved one cat, though the status of the second cat remained uncertain following the fire.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other floors, though the apartment sustained significant damage. Local police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire and the allegations of arson.
