Serik State Hospital faces negligence allegations after infant's death

The family of a 13-month-old infant, Gökçe, has filed a formal complaint against the management of Serik State Hospital in Antalya following the child's sudden death. The incident began when the infant was taken to the hospital due to a fever caused by teething.

According to the parents, the child was sent home after treatment, but their condition deteriorated overnight. The following morning, the child's caregiver noticed bruises on the infant's body. Upon being rushed back to the hospital, medical staff attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation for approximately 2.5 hours, but the infant could not be revived.

The parents allege medical negligence and the administration of incorrect medication, noting that the medicine provided had a strong, unusual odor. They have requested a thorough investigation and are awaiting the final autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death.
