Serious crash on Italy's Statale 229 near Lake Orta injures driver

A chain‑reaction collision involving three vehicles occurred on the Statale 229 highway near Lake Orta on Monday morning. The impact trapped the driver of the second car inside the cabin; firefighters from Novara rescued him from the wreckage. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while occupants of the other two cars suffered only minor injuries.
