Serious head-on collision on I/50 near Slavkov injures three

A serious traffic accident occurred on the I/50 road near Slavkov on September 16. A driver operating a Škoda Octavia traveling from Bučovice toward Holubice crossed into the oncoming lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a Renault.

Emergency responders treated three individuals, including a child, all of whom sustained moderate to serious injuries. The child was transported via helicopter to the Children's Hospital in Brno, while the adults were taken to Brno's university hospitals by ground.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, noting that fatigue may have played a role or that the driver failed to remain fully attentive. The incident is being treated as a suspected criminal offense of causing grievous bodily harm through negligence. Due to the nature of the accident, a breathalyzer test could not be performed on-site.
